REC Camp Counselor - Summer Camp Counselors work with campers aged 5-13, leading games and sports like basketball, kickball, gymnastics, and dodgeball, and assist campers with swimming, rock climbing, and marina activities. Counselors facilitate small-group discussions, invest in campers' lives, and help provide care, resolve conflicts, and set a positive example. Staff will be responsible for supervising campers, organizing activities, and supporting their growth under the leadership of the Campus Recreation team.
Recreation Service Team - Join the Campus Recreation Member Services team! We’re seeking friendly, customer-oriented individuals with excellent communication skills to work at the front desk across various locations, including the SLC, Campus Recreation Office, Russell Gym, and the Pullin Family Marina. Previous customer service experience is a plus, but not required.
Summer Programs Team - This team provides staffing for the SLC Pool, ROCK, Pullin Family Marina, and Baylor Challenge Course at Eastland Lakes. Provided trainings include Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, Belay Training, Boater Safety, and other site-specific operations and risk management procedures.
Fitness Center Attendant - Passionate about fitness and helping to create a fun and safe workout experience for others? Serve as a Baylor Fitness team member in our SLC and Russell weight centers; background in health or fitness preferred.
Personal Trainer - Do want to be integral in guiding others on their path to enhanced health, wellness, and fitness? Our nationally certified, personal training team encourages and motivates others to pursue goals through the creation of customized training programs for individuals, partners, and/or group training.
Summer Marketing Assistant - Enjoy talking about Baylor and social media? Have a knack for design, photography or shooting high-quality video? Join the Campus Rec Marketing Team this summer and sharpen your skills as a designer, videographer, photographer, presenter and social media specialist, and have a TON of fun doing it!
ACADEMIC YEAR POSITIONS
Fitness Instructor - Do you love to exercise and want to walk alongside others while doing so? Our nationally certified Fitness Instructors lead a variety of group fitness classes, providing instruction and motivation to students, faculty, and staff. They design safe and effective workout routines while promoting health and wellness in a supportive, energetic environment.
Fitness Center Attendant - Be a part of the Fitness Center team, where anticipating needs and working together are at the heart of what we do. Build skills in communication, leadership, and fitness while fostering a safe and supportive environment.
Lifeguard - Become a member of our Aquatics team and work as a lifeguard at the SLC Leisure Pool; certification required. Lifeguards always needed!
Sports Official/Referee - you make the call! Get an active courtside view of Baylor Intramurals by officiating one of our many intramural sports; general sports knowledge preferred.
Marina Staff - Marina student workers assist customers to properly fit PFDs and select paddles, communicate the Marina’s Water Safety Instructions, and give brief paddling instructions. Excellent communication skills are required to present and enforce all policies. The Marina is an open air facility and guides spend the majority of their time outdoors exposed to sun, wind and other elements, and workers are required to spend time on the water observing patrons and enforcing Marina policies.
Marketing Account Manager - Join Campus Rec's dynamic marketing team! As a Marketing Account Manager, you'll lead the communication of events, programs, and services across assigned departments, curating engaging content and deploying media through various channels. Collaborate with program directors and team members to ensure timely, accurate, and impactful marketing that connects with the Baylor community.
Marketing Photographer/Videographer - Are you a creative student with a passion for sports photography and video content creation? Join the Campus Recreation team to capture action-packed moments, produce engaging media for social platforms, and help tell the story of our vibrant programs and events. This is a great opportunity to sharpen your skills, collaborate with staff, and build a dynamic portfolio in a fast-paced, energetic environment.
ROCK Staff - Student workers are responsible for all customer service-related issues including proper gear usage, climbing instruction, belaying, safety, and maintaining a positive attitude. Furthermore, student workers are responsible for the cleaning, care, and upkeep of equipment at the ROCK and surrounding area.
GRADUATE ASSISTANTS
The Department of Campus Recreation offers Graduate Assistantships in Facilities, Sport Clubs, Marketing, Outdoor Adventure and Intramural Sports. Graduate Assistants are paid 20 hours per week, and a partial scholarship for tuition is available. Acceptance into Baylor Graduate School is required to be considered as an application.
